Students at the Jawaharlal Nehru University (JNU) Sabarmati and other hostels were allegedly attacked. The student union of the university, JNUSU, claimed that some "masked" people entered the Sabarmati and other hostels of the JNU and thrashed the students on Sunday with sticks and rods. The students ' union alleged the ABVP organized the attack.
Also injured in the attack were JNUSU President Aishe Ghosh and General Secretary Satish Chandra Yadav, as shown by the videos and images on social media. "These are images describing the mayhem carried out in the hostels. These terrorists stormed this campus and spread havoc while the University's Vice Chancellor, the guards and Delhi Police stood by as enablers," JNUSU said in a Twitter post.

Delhi CM Arvind Kejriwal opposes JNU clashes, saying: "I'm so shocked to know about the violence at JNU. Students were brutally attacked. Police shud immediately stopped violence and restored peace. How will the country advance if our students are not safe on campus?"
According to sources, JNUSU president Aishe Ghosh and Secretary General Satish Chandra Yadav were injured in the attack.
"Goons wearing masks attacked me brutally. I bleed. I was brutally beaten up," Aishe Ghosh was quoted as saying by ANI.
