National Population Register aka NPR is a process of preparing and updating the Population Register (PR) of the citizens of the country.

The NPR requires fieldwork to be done for house-to-house calculations across the country.

Under the process, information would be collected from 1 April 2020 to 30 September 2020 about all the people living under the purview of the local registrar

Is It Related To CAA?

No, the CAA is for those who want to gain the citizenship of India.

The CAA is framed to give Indian Citizenship to Hindu, Sikh, Jain, Buddhist, Parsi and Christian foreigners, who have migrated from Pakistan, Bangladesh, and Afghanistan into India up to 31.12.2014.
