Asked if this could involve larger-scale activities in PoK, he told NDTV, "It should be the order."

The new Army Chief of Staff General MM Naravane said the army has "various plans" to fight in Pakistan-occupied Kashmir and is ready for "any mission." In an interview with NDTV, General Naravane said whether India should consider military operations in PoK as something that can be done realistically.
"We have mobilized our troops all along the frontier, including Jammu and Kashmir, and we have different plans and they can be executed if necessary. We can effectively execute and fulfill whatever mission we are tasked to do."
After taking over from General Bipin Rawat on Tuesday, the army chief had tough words about Pakistan and the terror it sponsors.

The armed forces have conducted two highly publicized operations over the past four years in line with the government's tough line on terror.
In 2016, after the attack on an army camp in Jammu and Kashmir's Uri, surgical strikes were carried out against terror camps across the Line of Control. Following the suicide attack in Kashmir's Pulwama, the Air Force targeted a Jaish-e-Mohammed training camp in Pakistan's Balakot in February last year.

"We can see that they are being frustrated now. Pakistan PM arrives at the PoK and advises not to go to the border with Pakistanis. It's nice that they won't be able to return to Pakistan if they come. The error of replicated 1965 and 1971 could not be done," Mr Singh had said.
"When they replay it (Pakistan), they will wonder what's going to become of PoK," he said.

For now, the army chief said, the task is to “make sure that incursions or infiltrations do not take place”. “We need to maintain a high state of vigil round the clock, in different terrains and climactic conditions and that is indeed a very hard task,” he added.
