Customers also face difficulties because the net banking services are not working and some have even complained that their credit cards are not working either.

Panicked Yes Bank customers were seen queuing up at the bank's ATMs at different locations, but to no avail as most money-dispensing machines don't have cash, after the Reserve Bank placed the crisis-hit lender under a moratorium.

Many customers, however, said they could withdraw the stipulated amount of Rs 50,000 through checks in branches of Yes Bank.

Customers also face difficulties because the net banking services are not working and some have even complained that their credit cards are not working either.

Because the Reserve Bank has superseded the private sector lender board on a precarious financial condition and appointed an executive of the SBI as its administrator, customers can not withdraw more than Rs 50,000 under the moratorium period until April 3, 2020.

Several customers at a central Delhi bank branch said they faced no problem while withdrawing the Rs 50,000 sum through cheques.

"Internet banking is not working, even the credit card has stopped working, but I withdrew my amount by check," said Lalit Kumar, Yes Bank's Gole Market branch customer here.

Yes Bank customers were queuing up at an ATM in Ghaziabad to withdraw money but to no avail as there was no cash.

Most of the Automated Teller Machines (ATMs) wore a deserted look because of the lack of cash available.

A Delhi-based customer said he could only withdraw limited cash of about Rs 3,000-4000 from an ATM machine, adding the withdrawal of the cheque helped him withdraw the remaining amount under the moratorium limit.

However, a display at the Parliament Street Post Office read: "Till further orders from the RBI, no Yes bank checks will be cleared."

In addition, people also complained that Yes Bank has facilitated meal cards which are not working.

Small business payment facilitator Instamojo's CEO & co-founder Sampad Swain said the company will temporarily withhold payouts to merchants holding Yes bank accounts until further clarity on the situation.

"This is to ensure that no merchant's funds are blocked. We've provided our merchants as an alternative with the option of changing their registered bank from Yes bank to another account," Mr Swain said.

To soothe the hassled customers, in a statement issued Friday, Yes Bank's administrator Prashant Kumar said there was no need for panic and the bank was working to bring the situation under control before April 3.

"The current moratorium was implemented with the interest of the depositors in mind and with a view to restoring their confidence.
