Indian Railways declared an increase in ticket prices throughout its network and ticket price increases can be seen from January 01.
Indian Railways has taken the step of supplying its customers with better services and facilities. The Railway Ministry issued an order stating that while suburban fares remain unchanged, non-AC ordinary non-suburban fares are hiked by 1 paisa per km of journey.

Your train journey will be more expensive starting today, 1 January 2020. Starting January 1st, the Railways reported a rise in passenger fare, rising travel costs in different classes by 1-4 paise per kilometer.
To improve passenger services and facilities at railway stations and in trains, it has become necessary to slightly raise train fare without overburdening any passenger class. Through this fare review, accelerated automation of Indian Railway will be accomplished. The last fare revision was done in 2014-15.

The hiking is 4 paise per kilometer traveled for all AC groups.
A 1 paisa per kilometer hike will be seen in both non-AC groups and the unreserved section.
The hiking will be 2 paise per kilometer on long-distance mail / express trains.
Railways have decided not to change the rates of the commuter levels.
Based on the run, the fare hike also extends to luxury trains like Shatabdi, Rajdhani and Duronto.
There will be no improvement in the reservation price and superfast rate, according to the order.
The raise in price will be on tickets purchased on or after 1 January 2020 and passengers who have booked tickets before this date will not be paid any extra fare (difference in cost).
Despite today's fare hike, the trip from Delhi-Kolkata, covering a distance of 1,447 km, the hike on Rajdhani-type trains at a pace of 4 paise per km will be around 58 in AC grades.
The rise will not change the prices for catering.
