A few days ago, US President Donald Trump announced that Google's Verily Healthcare Division is working on the COVID-19 (coronavirus) health check-up website. Google, too, later confirmed the news on social media and even announced that the website would soon be live. At that time, however, no dates were given. But the day after the announcement, the website went live.
Those staying in California, the U.S. can visit the website to take an online survey of the COVID-19 screener. People who meet the eligibility criteria will be sent to mobile testing sites on the basis of capacity where they will undergo a nasal swab test and will be informed in the next few days whether or not they are infected with COVID-19.
You can visit the website and tap the' Get Started' tab. You are eligible to be screened for coronavirus testing if you are:
-Age 18 or older.
-U.S. resident.
-Located in one of the counties where testing is currently available.
=Willing to sign COVID-19 Public Health authorization form.
-Able to speak and read English.
-Also mentioned is that the testing will be free of cost.
In a blog post, Verily states that this new' online tool' is being developed in collaboration with the California Governor's Office, the federal, state and local public health authorities. Testing sites are currently limited to the Bay Area, but will soon expand. "As more testing kits and sites become available, we plan to scale the capacity," the company said.
"The tool will sort people who are concerned about their COVID-19 risk into testing sites on the basis of guidance from public health officials and availability of testing," he added.
The post clearly states that the program is in the phase of testing and will take time to expand to other areas and regions. "We work closely with Governor Newsom's Office, federal authorities and local public health authorities.
