Coronavirus in India, Centre sets up task force as 3rd case detected in Kerala

The Center has set up a task force with representatives from the Ministries of Health, Home, Civil Aviation and Women and Child Development to monitor the situation arising from the novel coronavirus, Union Minister G Kishan Reddy said.

After the third case of novel coronavirus was detected in Kerala's Kasargod, the Center set up a task force to monitor the situation. Around 2,000 people in the southern Indian state are under observation, as the novel virus claimed 361 lives worldwide.
A day ago a second flight from Air India brought 323 Indians from Wuhan, a Chinese town. A travel advisory was also issued by the government for people traveling from China.
"A task force has been set up to track the novel coronavirus scenario. Tomorrow, the task force's first meeting will take place. They will address what all the steps need to be taken to prevent the virus from spreading," said Reddy.
A third case of the virus reported from Kerala On Monday morning, Kerala health minister KK Shailaja confirmed a third case of coronavirus tested positive in Kerala's Kasargod. On Sunday, a second case of a novel coronavirus in the country was also reported from Kerala, and the patient is being monitored in an isolation ward in the Alappuzha Medical College.
Around 2,000 people under observation in Kerala .
The health department of Kerala put 1,924 people under observation at their homes, and 75 were admitted to isolation wards in different hospitals. To date there have been 104 samples of suspected cases sent for testing. Of these, 36 results were received, and 3 positively tested. Four people were also admitted to general hospital in Alappuzha.
India evacuates 647 Indians from virus-hit Wuhan
In the last two days, 647 Indians have been evacuated from the Chinese city of Wuhan through two special Air India flights. Wuhan is the epicentre of the outbreak. While 324 Indians were part of the first batch, 323 Indians and seven Maldivians were evacuated on Sunday. Officials said that six Indians could not board the first flight as they were stopped by the Chinese immigration officials after they reported high temperature.
Medical facilities in Manesar to quarantine Indians returning from Wuhan.
Indians who had returned from China were quarantined at Manesar's army and navy facilities. In each tent around 20 people were accommodated with doctors checking their temperatures twice a day. Though food was provided to the quarantined, they were not permitted to meet anyone, including relatives.
At the 300-bed facility of the Army in Manesar, as many as 252 Indians were kept under quarantine for two weeks. In a navy camp in Manesar, Haryana, female students and employees were quarantined while males were housed in an army camp. They might be kept under observation for a couple of weeks there.
