Noida: While chief minister Yogi Adityanath was scheduled to inaugurate the headquarters of the new police commissionerate proposed at Sector 108 on Sunday, the schedule was changed at the last minute and the CM is now expected to visit Noida later in the week.

The two additional CPs–Sreeparna Ganguly and Akhilesh Singh–together with the CP, and Nitin Tiwari, and DCP (headquarters) will also have their offices in the same building.

And with the Authority now preparing paperwork to allocate the traffic park to the police department, which was built at a cost of roughly Rs 35 crore and spread over seven acres, residents are worried that the infrastructure at the park could never be used for training and awareness campaigns on road safety.
Amit Gupta, an active traffic volunteer from Noida, said the campus should also have some space for the Department of Transportation, otherwise its purpose would be defeated. "Giving the police department a traffic park can defeat its construction purpose, the campus was originally designed for traffic and transportation.
I think the campus should be given space to all three departments and not just the police, "he said.

The police headquarters has already proposed to the state government the establishment of new Noida Police Stations. The local police want four new police stations in the city — Okhla Barrage, Sector 106, Sector 115 and Sector 63—due to the growing population in Noida.
A total of 22 police stations in the district currently operate, including female police station. Around 1,200 more staff will soon join the force at Noida as well.
