On Tuesday morning, an Indian Army helicopter crashed near the Ranjit Sagar Dam in Punjab's Pathankot district.
Both the captain and co-pilot of the doomed chopper are safe and were retrieved by divers shortly after the disaster, according to the dam authorities.
SSP Pathankot Divers have recovered the pilot and co-pilot, according to Surendra Lamba. They were transported to the hospital because they were shocked.
The chopper, which belonged to the 254 Army Aviation Squadron, had taken off from Mamun Cantonment in Pathankot around 10 minutes before colliding with the dam.

Army officials have launched an investigation to determine the actual reason of the crash, which will be conducted by Army experts.
Tourists visiting the dam witnessed the chopper falling down into the dam and heard a tremendous thump, according to eyewitnesses. Everyone screamed and rushed helter-skelter.
The dam personnel on the scene alerted a senior official, who then informed the police and Army officials.
