The film Ajay Devgn earned Rs 15.10 in crore, Ajay Devgn, Kajol and Saif Ali Khan are stars in the lead roles of the Unsung Warrior.
After 12 years, Bollywood's A couple Ajay Devgn and Kajol have reunited for Tanhaji: The Unsung Warrior. Tanhaji is also the 100th film of Ajay.
Tanhaji works on 3880 India screens and 660 overseas screens. On the first day of its release the film minted Rs 15.10 lakh.

The film also stars Saif Ali Khan in a lead role. A derogatory role in the film is played by the drink performer. Ajay is seen in the movie as Tanhaji Malusare, a valiant Maratha fighter. He battled against Udaybhan Singh Rathod's Battle of Sinhagad (Saif Ali Khan). Kajol is seen in the role of Savitribai Malusare wife of Tanhaji.
Our critic, Jyoti Kanyal, gave the film 2.5 out of 5 stars and said, "While much has been written about the Battle of Sinhagarh that took place between the Maratha army led by Tanaji Malusare and Mughal fortkeeper Udaybhan Singh, the film presents it with intriguing twists and turns.
Remember Bajirao Singham on Singham and Singham Returns by Rohit Shetty? Tanaji Malusare, by Ajay Devgn is the Singham of the 17th century. With over - the-top dialogs exhorting the masculinity of Maratha, it seems that Ajay Devgn is really trying hard to make Tanaji a hero, who is in fact without all that pomp and show:

The film was released alongside Deepika Padukone's Chhapaak. It is based on victim Laxmi Agarwal's acid attack experience.
