Capgemini to hire up to 15,000 freshers this year via campus recruitment

The French multinational giant Capgemini says this year it will hire between 12,000 and 15,000 freshers through college campus recruitment. Last year the French IT multinational company had recruited similar numbers of students.
Capgemini provides the freshers with an average annual salary of Rs 3.8 lakh. The annual package for students of IITs and NITs goes up to Rs 6.5 lakh however.
Currently 1.2 lakh employees work in Capgemini's Indian offices. With this, India accounts for more than half of the global strength of the French IT services firm. Indeed India is Capgemini's biggest delivery engine.
Ashwin Yardi, CEO of Capgemini India, said the company bets on 5G technologies and established two laboratories in Paris and Mumbai to find a solution.Capgemini has hired Monica Gupta from Airtel as Vice President to drive its business in 5 G and communication technology. Overall, India has 200 VPs at the company. In addition, it has four Indian figures in the company's 26-member Group Executive Committee (GEC). Among them is Yardi.
In addition to Capgemini, Cognizant, a US-listed IT company, also said it was considering hiring more than 20,000 students from college campuses this year. Annual campus salary packages for engineering graduates were also jacked up by the IT services company by 18 per cent to Rs 4,00,000.
